Position: Business Objects Developer
Location: Columbia, SC
Duration: Long term(7 month – 2.5 year assignment)
TIMEFRAME:
Position to begin effective on or about December 6, 2010, extending through June 30, 2011. Position may be extended for additional one year periods by mutual consent.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Strong analytical skills.
· Experience in working in a Microsoft SQL Server environment using 2005 and 2008 systems.
· Expert knowledge of, and experience in Business Objects Enterprise XI R3 platform with strong technical knowledge of various components such as Universe design, Query As A Web Service, InfoView, Dashboard Manager, XCelcius, Web Intelligence etc.
· Strong development experience with reporting using Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence, or XCelsius, including use of filters and drill-downs.
· Strong experience in XCelcius creating Dashboards to include trending, forecasting, and reporting of key business performance indicators.
· Strong SQLP background in creating calculations and variables per the business requirements.
· Ability to learn new applications and skills sets.
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
· Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with business users, management, vendors, and peers.
· Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
· Understanding of deployment methodology concepts including design, build, testing, and deployment.
The individual will operate with very limited supervision, within standards and processes established for DOR business intelligence and application development, and overall Agency and IRM procedures. With the understanding that the DOR systems include extremely sensitive and confidential information, position requires complete discretion and trustworthiness. The individual must be conscientious and attentive to accuracy, controls, and balances of the Business Intelligence system and the reports, dashboards, scorecards, forecasts, and trending models derived from the various data sources by means of business intelligence tools.
