Brief overview of Sales Tax Services - Production Data Specialist (Hiring Manager – (Arvind Maheshwaram)

Transaction taxes are taxes where the amount of the tax due is determined on each product sold in a transaction.  This differs from an Income Tax where the tax is determined on the income for the year or a Payroll Tax where the tax is determined on the wages for the period. The most common transaction taxes are Sales and Use Tax Value Added Tax, Sales tax is tax paid by buyer to the seller and seller pays tax collected to state and local governments. Used Tax is tax paid by buyer directly to state and local governments, it compliments the sales tax

 

The Job Description is as below:

This individual will be responsible for the data quality as it associates with sales and use tax processing. The individual will import or receive ADP Client sales and use transaction files and process that data through a variety of ADP system processes and load the data into ADP's Taxsolver Product so that the Returns Processing resources can perform the service of sales and use tax filing. The individual diagnose and resolve data and/or processing exceptions. The individual will have secondary for Client Implementation support.

 

Freshers: Process Associate

Fresh B.Sc / BCA graduates with 60% plus throughout their academics (2010 batch only) 

 

Experienced: Senior Process Associate

1-3 years in Database Management and Implementation

 

Essential Responsibilities

Primary

• Production processing, monitoring and validation of ADP Client data import to include; timely data file receipt, validation of system processing, correction processing errors/exceptions.
• Production processing, monitoring and validation of ADP Client data through ADP System processes.
• Interact with ADP Client Services in order to address any ADP Client specific data transformation issues.
• Debug production processing issues; evaluation of system logs and database information
• Resolve production processing issues, resolution of such may require the individual to adjust or create data conversion software
• Develop & maintain ADP Client transformation software
• Maintain Client processing specifications, specific Client data import file names, data transformation information and exception handling conditions
• Maintain software source objects into source control library

Secondary

• STS Client Implementation support
• Development Client specific data maps according to specification documents
• Configure test systems according to specification / configuration documents
• Development, maintain test scripts
• Test Client specific data maps and system configuration and analyze/reconcile results
• Debug and resolve processing / testing issues and provide test reports
• Prepare development artifacts for production promotion
• Record keeping using established guidelines, include software source control
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Additional Skills Required

• Good knowledge on the following technologies: java, .net, sql, oracle, scripting language like; perl, Microsoft business applications (access, word, powerpoint, excel)
• Ideal candidate should have the following skills:  
• 3rd Party Data Mapping tool/software: ideally Pervasive Data Integrator
• Sales/use tax filings in multiple jurisdictions is preferred or experience with financial applications / processes
• Tax research beneficial as well as experience with Agency Relations
• Understanding of treasury/banking beneficial

• Candidates who have worked with 3 or more companies and possess only 2 years experience
