Position :  Database Administrator with Oracle and SQL experience .

Duration :  6 month assignment with possible extensions

 

H-1b candidates are acceptable provided they have 5+ years and  the required technical and communication skills.

Description:		Local Pittsburgh  area candidates preferred   Oversees day to day operation of the database instances Installs and configures database software manages license for all database software Manages the deployment of appropriate secuirty patches,hot fixes,and software updates manages database user accounts,roles and permissions Manages database storage and plans for future capacity performs database back-ups according to a regular schedule recovers data from backups as needed monitors performance and tunes the database and queries for best performance keeps up to date documentation of database installations ,physical and logical models   Knowledges skills and abilities working knowledge of Microsoft SQL server(Oracle) architecture and related utilities.   Bachelors degree in Computer Science MIS or a related Degree or equivelant education Microsoft Certified Database administartor v(MCDBA) significant knowledge and or background in very large Database(VLDB) 24X7 uptime development and test ,data warehousing environments is desirable experience in electric utility industry desirable desire 2-5 years atr least experience
