Summary:
Responsible for coordinating changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database.
Education/Experience: Associates degree in computer programming or relevant field required. Bachelor degree preferred. Five to seven years relevant experience required.
Skills and Competencies: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage one's time. Knowledge of computer hardware and software such as SQL, Visual Basic, Oracle, etc.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications. Modify existing databases and database management systems. Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations. Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system. Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. Perform other duties as assigned.
experience:
7-8 years This applicant must have DB2 LUW proficiency with SAP experience in addition to a strong technical background.The candidate must have HADR experience. It would also be beneficial if the candidate for the position has experience with any of the following: Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), BMC Remedy and ITIL process, AIX navigation, Unix shell scripting, Database design/modeling, Flash Copy Manager or SQL code development. This position is physically located in Building AD, East Peoria, IL.
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
B.S. in Computer Science, Business, or related major or equivalent business experience. Understanding of IS standards such as SDLC, ITIL, and Quality Assurance and testing. Basic understanding of the principles, techniques and methodologies of: quality management, project management, change and problem management.
