- Java / J2EE skills a plus

- Experience in designing and building server-side web applications (WebObjects preferred; J2EE, Struts, Tapestry and/or Rails accepted) a plus

- Participate and actively involved in team and organization wide architecture discussions and software development best practices

- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work

Job Title:                Microsoft NAV Application Developer (Navision Developer)
Monday - Friday, overtime as required
Location: Dallas, TX

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

 

GENERAL WORK DESCRIPTION
Perform MS NAV application configuration, system monitoring, issue resolution and new application development. Work as a member in our existing NAV development team in supporting and improving our global NAV application.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include writing functional requirement documents and system design documents. Provide troubleshooting and end-user support. Create new application code as well as maintain existing code.  From time to time implementation support will be needed as systems are rolled out at new locations.
 
EDUCATION, PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIALIZED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
A minimum of 3 years of application development with MS NAV Thorough knowledge of the business to business supply chain attained by means of a business degree or other work experience.  A manufacturing background is a plus.

WORK CONDITIONS
The work environment is shared office space with other systems personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and program ancillary applications, interfaces and reports for all areas of the company.
• Make recommendations to enhance and coordinate programming activities and standards to be used for all software development throughout the company.
• Utilize the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model to specify and document all developed solutions.
• Document all developed software.
• Create design specification documentation including ER diagrams, data flow diagrams and other modeling techniques to assist with design.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience with software development and relational databases
• 7+ years with Oracle databases
• 4+ years with Oracle Reports (must have experience with Reports 10g)
• Strong PL/SQL development skills
