Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer
 
location— Carmel, IN
6 month contract
 
Job Description:   
 
Experian is looking for a highly motivated technical Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer with excellent problem solving and communication skills. Experian offers an Agile environment where the QA, Development, and Business Analysts departments work closely together to accomplish a common goal. The successful applicant will be responsible for validating enterprise software built upon the latest web technologies. Daily activities will include estimating, writing test scripts, test execution, defect analysis, and regression testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of QA methodologies and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.

• Participate in software design discussions, reviews, and test strategy sessions
• Provide QA estimates for resource and project planning purposes
• Apply builds in the QA environment using installers and database scripts
• Develop and execute test scripts/cases and analyze results
• Execute regression tests, both manually and using Quick Test Pro
• Create test data through the user interface, database, or XMLs
• Document discrepancies and provide status reports to management
• Create and maintain manual regression test suites
• Communicate with other departments to coordinate test and deployment activities
• Research problems reported in the production application and communicate results to the appropriate parties for resolution
 
Skills Required:    
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of professional experience including 3 years in software testing.

• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong time management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of SQL server 2008
• Strong knowledge of testing web applications
• Strong ability to work on multiple projects at one time
• Strong willingness to collaborate and work with a group.
• Good knowledge of the Agile Methodology Scrum
• Good ability to adjust to day-to-day changes in priorities and demands
 
Skills Preferred but Not Required:    
• Knowledge of automated testing tools
• Knowledge of MKS
• Banking knowledge.
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience:       4-6
