Job Title: QA Analyst
Location: Washington, DC (Locals Only for F2F Interview)
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
Max Rate: $28/Hr on C2C
Responsibilities:
Participate and provide input on story requirements, design, estimation and test approach discussions
Collaborate with the development team and business partners to ensure the scope of tests is comprehensive, and to mitigate defects prior to testing
Create test data sets which fully exercise data validation, reports and end-to-end system functionality
Validate code changes (both manual and automated fashion) in web based development environment (Java, DB – Oracle or Postgres)
Identify potential impact areas to existing downstream functionality; identifying and communicating risks when appropriate
Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate actual test results match expected results
Identify and log defects if/when a test fails, if necessary, using SQL to narrow down the root cause of the problem for efficient investigation by the development team and log accordingly
Work with stakeholders to understand product requirements and use cases
Verify code developed during the release
Write clear, concise, descriptive defect reports
Verify defect fixes
Support developers in troubleshooting test failures
Support QA process improvements
Basic qualifications:
4+ years of prior experience in software QA - Java environment
Good practical knowledge of relational databases (SQL)
Scrum/Agile background
Competency with web application architecture and technologies, including multi platform/browser support
Basic programming skills
Bachelor’s Degree
Bonus qualifications:
Experience with automation tools like Selenium Webdriver
Experience testing Rest API’s / webservices
Experience with Performance/Load testing
Experience with JMeter
Experience with any Hadoop technologies
