Position: Weblogic Portal Developer

Location: either New Orleans,LA (or) Little Rock, AR

Duration: 1+ years

Job Description:

Intermediate Weblogic Portal Developer with strong experience in Java/J2EE technologies. The selected candidate will be an active team member and will participate in multiple web/portal efforts and provide on-going application and infrastructure maintenance in the Java/J2EE technology area. The candidate will participate on multiple phases of projects on the Weblogic portal platform including requirements gathering, analysis, technical design, development, testing and deployment. Additionally, the candidate will interact will offshore team members and often coordinate technical activities on projects involving an onshore/offshore delivery model.

 

Requirements:

Required skills:

• 4-7 years of Technical/Programming Knowledge in Java.

• 3+ years J2EE software development.

• Experience with Java Application Servers including Weblogic.

• Experience with Weblogic Portal 10.x is required.

• Strong understanding of portal concepts is required.

• Working knowledge of BEA Portal content repository is required.

• Demonstrated ability to develop complex web/portal applications leveraging EJB, JMS, AJAX and JSP.

• Demonstrated ability to build complex web/portal applications using MVC frameworks such as Spring and struts.

• Strong working knowledge of J2EE design patterns.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, XML.

• Experience working with Oracle, SQL Server database systems.

• Ability to design scalable application architectures for web and portal applications.

• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems with existing applications and provide sound resolutions.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

• Experience scaling and maintaining a heavily trafficked consumer site.

• B.S. Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems

 Desired skills:

• Proven development experience with Hibernate, Spring, JSF and Beehive frameworks.

• Working knowledge of Documentum content and document repositories is desired

• Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture components such as registries, repositories and Enterprise Service Bus.

• Experience with the BEA/Oracle AquaLogic product suite is a plus.

• Experience with XML Beans, Web Services, WS* standards.

• Understanding and/or working knowledge of Business Process Management and Workflow.

• Act as a mentor to other staff members.

• Ability to contribute to the creation of development standards and automated build/test processes.

• Serve as a hands-on lead developer to spearhead development projects.

• Analyze projects from an architectural perspective.

• Willingness to participate in on-going maintenance activities for existing Java/J2EE applications including participating in on-call, support rotation cycles.

• Experience with Ajax frameworks such as Dojo and jQuery is desirable.
