Job Description:

 

The Informatica Developer is a critical role responsible for delivery of the robust ETL code and comprehensive documents for the various data movement initiatives for the company. 

 

The Informatica Developer will design, develop, and support ETL processes using the tool consistent with technical vision, standards and best practices. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Develop/Maintain existing Informatica mappings and workflows based on specifications.

·         Should be proficient in writing and tuning Oracle SQL.

·         Perform and document unit tests for applications.

·         Should be "Smart" enough to deliver the robust and quality ETL code assuming all possible data challenges even with minimum documentation or guideline.

·         Should visualize the production  day to day operational aspect and build appropriate routines for automations and validations to meet the SLA

·         Self starter , should be able to reach out to various groups / personnel , documents and get things done

·         Should be able to resolve most technical issues with minimum help from other members of team

·         Provide the second / third level support function, ETL incident/Event management.

·         Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the applications.

·         Participate in cross-functional efforts to support and mentor personnel teams

·         Maintain expert level of knowledge in area of expertise.

·         Develop and maintaining a thorough knowledge of the assigned applications, functional areas or projects.

·         Work with the team to ensure the quality of coordinated business functions.

·         Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues thru resolution.

 

Qualifications:

·        

·         At least 4 years experience in Data Warehousing

·         At least 6 years of experience with Informatica, including v8

·         Prior experience and  functional knowledge about the Web Advertising industries and providing solution in  Web industry based BI solutions

·         Knowledge of Informatica Architecture on UNIX and Informatica Repository on Oracle

·         Experience with Erwin, First Logic (or other Data Quality tool), XML, SAS or Microstrategy

·         Thorough knowledge of UNIX and UNIX Scripting in Korn Shell

·         Thorough knowledge of the Oracle Database (9i and 10g) and SQL performance tuning using Explain Plan

·         Experience with loading 3NF and dimensional designs

·         Experience tuning database/ETL applications and SQL.

·         Working knowledge of dimensional modeling techniques.

·         Knowledge of data quality approaches and techniques required.

·         Experience with data quality tools like first Logic, Trillium

·         Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

·         Positive and constructive minded

·         Solid Team player, Good interpersonal skills

·         Ability to create deliver meaningful and concise artifacts, Good writing skills

·         Good presentation & communication skills:

·         Ability to translate and clearly formulate technical issues
