Title : QA Manual Tester
Location : Phila, PA
Duration : 12+ Months
Rate : $35/Hour on C2C with all inclusive
Must:
At least 7 years of hands on software testing (QA) experience specifically manual testing experience
Experience working with off shore team of testers – team lead experience is preferred
Must be able to learn new proprietary systems quickly!
Quality center, QTP (quick test pro) AND Load Runner exposure are ALL required!
Oracle or SQL or DB2 Database experience
Plusses:

Day to Day:
This team of testers will be on shore in Philadelphia, PA and they will be the leads for the off shore team (10-15 resources off shore) and at least 4 on shore. This team in Philadelphia will be responsible for taking the functional requirements and build solid test cases and scenarios from them. They will then send these test plans and cases to the off shore team to perform the individual test cases. This team will also perform some of the actual test cases themselves and they will then review/compare/approve the results with the Business analysts and development managers here in phila. This team on shore will also perform regression tests again the results and will work to re-vamp and modernize the applications. They will also combine and summarize the findings of the test results, defects and metrics to prevent these issues from re-occurring. They are working on an upgrade of a major series of applications – they are internal proprietary applications for their internal nationwide sales force to support financial planners.
They already have the team in place for the automated tests but if they have automated testing experience that would be a plus in case there is additional work load in that department.
Responsibilities:
Provides quality assurance testing for vendor and/or proprietary business applications (software).
Determines range and depth of testing activities required
Develops test plans, specifications, test cases, and schedules required for integration , system and acceptance testing of multiple applications
Develops all documentation related to the QA process – test plans, test cases, schedule, etc.
Develops and / or defines test data needed for test execution.
Reviews / interprets all system documentation (requirements document, functional specifications document, usability specifications document, etc).
Sets up test cases into logical business scenarios for execution.
Creates and manages the test schedule of all testing participants including analysts and users
Coordinates bug and issues logs with developers so all items are fully documented
Validates all data (database, user interface, reports, cross system interfaces, etc.).
Provide weekly status and bugs counts
Manages the QA process to keep to testing schedule.
Provides input to overall project plan for all phases which include QA.
Coordinate the execution of automated testing scripts.
Interact successfully, lead and direct the work of offshore teams
Assure adherence to all Lincoln Financial QA Policies and Standards.
Requirements:
7 to 10+ years experience as a "hands on" QA Analyst
Ability to function independently with little supervision
Ability to learn new systems and their business purpose within a short period of time
Excellent communication skills; both written and oral.
Some leadership experience desired. The ability to "take the lead" in a group of peers to accomplish the project goals would be highly desirable.
Ability to function in a quick paced environment and be responsive to client needs.
2+ years of experience leading offshore resources (assigning work, monitoring progress, checking results).
Must have a working knowledge of databases, including relationships and hierarchy, to perform queries as part of testing criteria. Analyst must also develop an understanding of the business use of all applications.
Strong understanding of the Quality Assurance Process Methodology.
Bachelors Degree or Technical Training related to Information Technology.
Financial Services application experience preferred.
Strong Working Knowledge of Quality Center
